USA: University student tells police he’s studying Criminal Justice then arrested for marijuana

AN ANTONIO- A university student claiming to be studying Criminal Justice is facing charges after he and his renters were caught with over 12 oz of marijuana.

Hollywood Park Officers were called out to the 400 block of Meadowbrook for a barking dog complaint.

Quentin Castillo and Gabriella Miles were found inside the home. When officers spoke to them, they detected the smell of marijuana inside the house.

While speaking to them and another man, Jonathan Perez, arrived and said he was the co-renter of the property along with Castillo.

Perez told officers he was a university student and studying Criminal Justice and was set to graduate soon.

Detectives were then called to the scene and obtained a search warrant.

The detectives found some marijuana, $1,000 in cash in $20 dollar bills, digital scales, pipes and other paraphernalia along with a handwritten ledger of what is believed to be a record of expenses and profit from the selling of the marijuana.

Perez’s car was searched and a large amount of marijuana was found in the vehicle, a total of 12 oz.

Charges are being prepared and will be filed with the Bexar County District Attorney for Jonathan Perez.

He is being charged with Possession 4 oz.-5lbs (State Jail Felony). Police believe he is distributing and selling an illegal substance so the local DEA office has been informed of his case.

Castillo and Miles will be charged with Possession 0-2 oz. (Class B MISD).
