A police officer at 1:59 a.m. April 21 spotted an occupied vehicle with the engine running behind a business on Lorain Road. The driver was asleep in the driver’s seat.
The officer awakened the driver by knocking on his window. The driver said he had fallen asleep while waiting for a friend.
The officer, while speaking with the man, noticed an odor of raw marijuana. The officer announced that he was going to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle, and the suspect handed over a bag of marijuana from one of his pockets.
The officer during a search also found seven bags of edible marijuana candies in one of the man’s pockets and a scale in the vehicle’s center console.
Police cited the man for possession of marijuana. Officers confiscated 24 grams of marijuana and edible marijuana.
