Rabat – Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), in cooperation with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) has thwarted a drug trafficking operation in Casablanca.
BCIJ seized seven tons of hashish resin that was on a cargo truck and MAD 204,630 (approximately $21,000).
A statement from the BCIJ said that the operation was part of its efforts to combat organized crime, especially international drug trafficking.
Police arrested seven suspects in connection with the drug trafficking operation.
Police, according to the statement, will resume their investigation to determine any possible links with international networks.
