CA: Over 136,000 marijuana plants eradicated from properties in southern Trinity County

Law enforcement destroyed over 136,000 marijuana plants and over 4,500 pounds of processed marijuana at multiple properties in southern Trinity County this week.

According to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, multiple crews served search warrants on properties in the area of Kettenpom and Wool Mountain on July 13 and 14.

While searching the properties, TCSO found 136,262 marijuana plants and destroyed 4,592.80 lbs. of processed marijuana. Eleven guns were confiscated as well as $106,900 cash.

TCSO says multiple people were detained, interviewed, and later released pending charges with the Trinity County District Attorney’s Office.

Also found while searching the properties were illegal water diversions, large scale grading, unpermitted structures, and numerous other environmental crimes related to marijuana cultivation.

Units who responded include TCSO Narcotics Investigators, Wardens and Scientists with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, North State Major Crimes Investigation Team Agents, and members of the California National Guard.
